At Finesse Dental, we recommend regular 6 monthly check-up and cleans in order for our dentists to assess the health of your teeth and gums and determine if there is further work to do.
An x-ray would be the first thing that the hygienist/dentist would look at. So, you would probably undergo this stage if you don’t have one.
Secondly, the check-up wherein the hygienist/dentist would assess your teeth and gums and if there would be underlying problems that needs to be addressed.
Thirdly, scaling. Hygienist/dentist uses a special instrument called ultrasonic scaler which has a tickling sensation. And it is used to remove the tartar building up and plaques on your teeth.
And lastly, fluoride. Which is said to help remineralizer the structure of the teeth and protect it from further decays.
Note that it will still depends on number of cavities and level of build ups.
Depending on your case, usually it would take 30-60 minutes. Including the polishing and fluoride.
